Where Businesses Go For Trust and Support

Misneach Integrative Health Studio

Meet Becky Simons, the owner of Misneach Integrative Health Studio in St. Thomas.

Becky’s story is one of overcoming personal trauma and challenges and the desire to create a business that serves the community. “Misneach,” meaning “Courage” in Gaelic, reflects Becky’s philosophy of encouraging individuals to make healthy lifestyle choices for mind, body, and soul. It is a place where you can be supported, guided, held, and learn without judgment.

In 2014, Becky embarked on her entrepreneurial journey with the support of EBRC’s business program.

“The staff were amazingly supportive, helpful, and understanding of our needs,” Becky recalls. “They took me step-by-step through the importance of small business possibilities and guided me to success. EBRC has always been my go-to in every step of my business ventures.”

Misneach Integrative Health Studio offers a variety of Health and Wellness services, including Physical Training, Mentoring, Workshops, and Classes, to help you achieve a healthy lifestyle and overall wellness. Becky’s success story is just one example of how EBRC helps small businesses succeed.

Services to Meet Every Need

EBRC supports every phase of a business’s growth, from inception to expansion. Services include:

  • Business Loans: Offering flexible financing solutions for new ventures and businesses seeking to grow.
  • Business Advising: Tailored one-on-one guidance from experienced business advisors, providing the knowledge and expertise on the challenges of starting and running a business.
  • Workshops and Training: Covering key areas such as how to start a business, marketing, financial management, and business operations.
  • Events: Events like The Pitch, a business plan competition, not only help business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs gain visibility, but also the winner of The Pitch receives over $40,000 with cash and in-kind prizes.

Becky’s biggest challenges as a small business owner include time management, prioritizing her many roles as a wife, mother, and entrepreneur, and getting her business the exposure it needed in a rural setting. “Living in a small rural hamlet is a HUGE challenge,” Becky explains.

“You need to be creative and always be willing to try new things from new angles.”

With EBRC’s consistent support—from marketing and social media guidance to financial pointers and business loans—Becky was able to overcome these challenges. “I have received great financial advice and pointers along the way to help with different options and avenues and have used the business loans opportunity,” she says.

“I will continue the rollercoaster of being a small business owner,” Becky explains. “I hope to get myself, my services, and my support out into the community and bring more knowledge and education to people about the importance of holistic health and lifestyle, as well as continuing to make a difference and bringing enjoyment to others’ lives.”

EBRC is always here to help small businesses in St. Thomas and Elgin County.

In a place where community and starting your own business go together, EBRC is more than a place for advice. Whether you’re just starting or have been in business for years, EBRC is ready to help you take the next step.
